Congratulations, Professor Umbridge. I'm sure you're very happy to have attained such a high position, though I do wonder if you are qualified for it.

I suppose my opinion doesn't matter much. But one voice can do a great deal. I believe that one voice can change the world. It's just about how much you want something to change.

Passion is the core for achieving your dreams. I have enough, I think.

Perhaps you have it too, Professor. If that's the case then I wish you well. Good luck on your endeavors. As for me, I am going to go to the Greenhouses and finish my project. The flowers are coming out quite nicely, though I do wonder why it has become so hostile as of late. I will have to remember to wear my dragon hide gloves.

What should I name it? Professor Sprout said something that encompasses its' two natures, though lately I have only been seeing one. I wonder if that is apart of its' aging process...

I'll watch it more closely today.

"Take care of the sense, and the sounds will take care of themselves."

{Private; Harry Potter}

Were you the one to send me that note at breakfast?

If so, what did you want to talk about?

Good luck charms and curiosities... )

What sort of tea does your father prefer?

Fireflies in the Garden
by: Robert Frost

Here come real stars to fill the upper skies,
And here on earth come emulating flies,
That though they never equal stars in size,
(And they were never really stars at heart)
Achieve at times a very star-like start.
Only, of course, they can't sustain the part.

{Private to Father}

Tensions are high here, and I'm not sure if I care for the atmosphere. All of the Fair Folk have left the Tower. That makes me rather sad. They are the ones that keep everything bright, festive (depending on the season) and warm. It isn't very warm anymore.

I wonder what I should do?

I'm sorry if I caused you any trouble with your father. That wasn't my intention.

The same applies to you, Draco. I am very sorry for causing you discomfort in the eyes of Harry's father.

{Private to Pansy}

We need to find them again. The Fair Folk are lost somewhere beyond the Castle. I fear the Forest will harm them.

I enjoy Ancient Runes and Astronomy. I wish I had those classes more often.

I do wonder who tripped me in the hall...

I'm certain that I felt a foot and then I hurt my cheek on the floor. Madame Pomfrey is taking good care of me, though I might need some help taking notes. My right wrist is rather sprained.

This dictation quill is wonderful, but I can't talk in class for the entire time. I'm sure the Professors would find that a nuisance.

I'm not mad at you, whoever you are. If it was an accident, then I forgive you.

Whoever sent me the bubblegum, thank you very much. :) Blue is my favorite color.

I am concerned about your Godfather and Uncle respectively.

You should stick around and be there for him. He needs it.

The rites are complete. I do hope the goddesses are appeased.

Is everyone ready for School? I am certainly excited. I hear the Fourth Year is especially important, but I thought the other Years were of equal importance. I suppose they were talking about the Examinations held during the Fifth Year.

Ah well. I will ensure I am prepared.

I rather like this song... )

I read a story concerning a Widdershen in the Daily Prophet. I thought it was a bit odd that they wouldn't call it by its' name. Maybe they are frightened of it? People don't say the names of the things they're afraid of, but I don't understand that at all.

If you talk about something enough, surely your fear of it would diminish.

That is just my theory, of course.

Though there is nothing to be frightened of when it concerns a Widdershen. They are amongst the most docile creatures on the planet, though I do suppose they are quite protective of their young.

But, then again, so are people. You can't really call that an aggressive trait.

I think I shall write them a letter. The poor Widdershen has been misrepresented.

Everyone seems to enjoy being inebriated.

Why is that? I'm not sure I understand.

I wonder if Dad should research it for the Quibbler...

I'll be sure to ask him tonight.

{Private.}

I should warn people about the Nargles. It is important that they know, and if they're compromised because of their drinking, they might not discover them until too late. That would be sad.

I found them. Dad said they would be hiding under the stones in the river bed, but I wasn't sure. I owe him an apology.

Undine )

They are hard to find in any water whatsoever, but I have been sprinkling the special mixture of herbs and berries that Dad gave me into the water to attract them.

This summer is turning out to be spectacular. Before I know it, this journal will be filled with new finds.

[wet splotch on page]

Hm, I've made a mess...
