| Bio: |  Nicknames: Loony Lovegood, Loony and any name pertaining to aforementioned insanity. The poor girl has heard them all. Age: 14 Birthday: September 16th, 1981 House/Year: Gryffindor/4th Occupation: Student Sexuality: Unknown - she has debated the importance of such exploration. Immediate Family: Xenophilius Lovegood (Father) and her deceased Mother - who was killed by a experimental spell backfiring. Marital Status: Too young. Blood Status: Halfblood (The Lovegoods have been apart of the Wizarding World for quite awhile, despite their dwindling numbers.) Loyalty/Alliance: DA (when it's formed) and Order of the Phoenix (though she doesn't know about that). She is also a follower of the Hallows - like her Father. Role in the war: Light side warrior. Appearance: Luna is not tall; not even close. She possesses the airy appearance of a pixie or fairy with her long, straggly blonde to dirty blonde hair and protuberant silver/grey eyes. Her manner of speaking is interesting and quite uncommon for just about anyone: it is a mixture of airiness and complete calm. Some might accord Luna’s quiet grace and agility as apart of the world her and her father have created for those who read The Quibbler. She is a physical representation of her father’s hope in a gentler world. No matter what has happened in her day, she will gift anyone who is kind to her with a smile – whether it is sane looking or not is beside the point. Personality: Luna is always in control of her “center” and thus exudes her confidence in a gentle manner. Some of this radiates in the way she smiles or the graceful, humble nature that sometimes shines through her words. A good example of this occurred at the closing of Harry’s Fifth Year, her Fourth, when she was putting up fliers about her belongings being stolen. She felt certain that people would relent and return her things, even with Harry’s (understandably) sardonic attitude. Luna believes in people, and feels there are many reasons to live a long, happy life even when Death interferes. After losing her mother, and seeing the spell backfire, the girl has grown into a stable view of life and death. She accepts both, but chooses to focus more on the lighter side of life. Her father has raised her well, and taught her that not ALL of the people in this world are murderers or out to get her; that she should retain her curiosity and hope no matter what. She is a steady woman because of the wizard and thus has dedicated herself to his “art”. The bottom line is: Luna loves. Oftentimes, this love becomes her greatest weakness, but she cannot help it. History: (Because of Luna's bravery, the only thing I am changing about her history is her House. She always seemed like a dreamy Gryffindor to me anyway.) Entering Hogwarts in 1992 after losing her mother only 2 years previously, it became swiftly apparent that Luna was NOT like the rest of her classmates. She was considered imaginative to begin with, and then weird after she began proclaiming her odd beliefs all around the Gryffindor Common Room. It wasn’t long before the teasing and tormenting began. Losing her possessions, mainly the stack of Quibblers that her father sent her periodically throughout the year, Luna became used to the actions; yet she never felt any negative emotions towards those who did it. Even when asked if she minded, the girl would shrug and whisper that they would be returned to her shortly. Events did not culminate into Luna’s participation in the war until her Fourth Year, when one of her friends, Ginny Weasley, asked her to accompany her to the first Dumbledore’s Army meeting. Fascinated, she joined the girl and found a new niche for herself in its ranks. In her eyes, the act of doing something is not only for her classmates, but also for her lost mother and grieving father. While the Death Eaters were not responsible for the woman’s death, she still finds comfort in offering the knowledge that she has discovered over the years to those that could use it in their time of need/distress. Luna will continue to fight for her convictions, and while her mind might not be the same as everyone else’s, her heart is in the right place. | ||||||||||
